Before you travel
A straightforward start at Phuket Yacht Haven
Your joining instructions contain the final details for your specific course run. The information below explains the normal arrangement for our liveaboard practical courses.
Course week
Five-day practical courses normally run Monday to Friday, with boarding from Sunday evening and checkout by Saturday morning.
Confirm your arrival
Tell us your expected arrival and checkout times in the participant form so the school can coordinate boarding and practical arrangements.
Pack in a soft bag
Storage aboard a yacht is limited. Bring a soft, collapsible bag; hard suitcases can normally be left at the school during your practical week.
Prepare for the tropics
Bring lightweight quick-drying clothing, sun protection, non-marking deck shoes and a light waterproof layer. Your joining instructions provide the complete list.
Plans remain flexible
Routes and anchorages depend on weather, tides, course objectives and the instructor's assessment. Practical weeks normally remain away from the marina until the final day.
Getting to the marina
Phuket International Airport is the nearest airport. Taxis and app-based transfers are widely available; an airport transfer may also be selected during booking when offered for your course.
