An indicative Andaman passage
This route combines the best of Phang Nga Bay’s cave systems with Krabi’s stunning Railay Beach and the cinematic landscapes of Phi Phi. Ideal if you want a bit of everything: caves, beaches, nightlife and relaxed sailing.

Indicative passage plan
Each day is a planning framework, not a promise of a particular anchorage or activity. At five knots, a 50-mile leg requires roughly ten hours underway before pilotage and manoeuvring.
Approx. 30 nmWe leave around 10:00 from Chalong Bay and point east towards Koh Kai.
- First swim and snorkel stop at Koh Kai with lunch on board
- Afternoon sail into Phang Nga Bay towards Koh Panak
At Koh Panak:
- Explore sea caves and hongs either on foot at low tide or by kayak at higher water
- Spend the first night at anchor here
Approx. 22 nmBefore breakfast you can already take the kayaks out to explore more caves around Koh Panak.
- Breakfast while sailing the short distance to Koh Hong
- Paddle inside the spectacular hong (“room”) via narrow waterways
After lunch on board we continue to Chicken Island (Koh Gai):
- Afternoon swimming and snorkeling in turquoise water
- Enjoy sunset and a quiet night at anchor at Chicken Island
Approx. 32 nmIn the morning we sail to Railay Beach, regularly ranked among the top 10 beaches in the world.
- Go ashore to explore the peninsula – no road access, everything by boat
- Optional rock climbing or simply enjoy the white-sand beach
Around lunchtime we set course for Koh Phi Phi:
- First stop at Phi Phi Leh and Maya Bay, filming location of “The Beach”
- Enjoy lunch and a visit by kayak to Pileh Bay, accessible at high tide
By late afternoon we sail to Phi Phi Don / Tonsai Bay:
- Go ashore for massage, dinner and nightlife
- Or choose a quieter nearby bay if you prefer a peaceful evening
Approx. 35 nmYou have the morning free at Phi Phi.
- More time for snorkeling, swimming, or exploring the island
- Optional hike to viewpoints (time permitting)
We depart before lunchtime for the sail back to Chalong Bay, Phuket, arriving in the late afternoon.
