Sailing through the Andaman Sea

Andaman sailing experience

Cruise further
Build real experience

For sailors who want more miles, more time at the helm and a genuine Andaman adventure.

Choose your time afloat

Three ways to sail farther

The 5-day cruise is a relaxed guest experience; the 7- and 14-day Mile Builders are more active sailing programmes. Every route remains flexible because weather, sea state, park access and crew development determine the best passage.

What makes a Mile Builder useful?

More than collecting a number

Time under sail

Trim sails, steer in changing conditions and learn how a cruising yacht settles into a passage.

Navigation in context

Connect chartwork, pilotage, tides, weather and electronic navigation to real decisions.

Watchkeeping and crew

Share responsibilities, communicate clearly and experience the rhythm of living and working aboard.

Andaman seamanship

Use real anchorages, channels, islands and tropical conditions to broaden practical judgement.

How the programme works

From preparation to logged miles

A Mile Builder is not passive transport. You join the preparation, take an active role underway and review what you learned with an experienced RYA instructor.

  1. 1

    Plan

Review the forecast, route, safety equipment, provisions and each crew member’s objectives.

  2. 2

    Sail

Rotate through helming, navigation, sail trim, lookout and watchkeeping on real coastal passages.

  3. 3

    Lead

Take responsibility as skipper of the day, make decisions and organise the crew with instructor support.

  4. 4

    Record

Debrief the passage and record genuine mileage, night hours and relevant experience in your logbook.

Shared responsibility

The crew helps with provisioning, lookout, meals, washing up and keeping the yacht shipshape.

Food and time ashore

Provisioning arrangements are confirmed for each trip. Restaurant meals and personal spending ashore remain separate unless stated.

Cabin sharing

Shared cabins are normal. Female students are not assigned to share with an unfamiliar male student unless they agree.

Boarding and checkout

Use the exact boarding and checkout times published for your run; longer routes and border formalities may use different timings.

Before you join

Start with the right passage

Tell us what you have sailed, what you want to practise and whether logged mileage supports a future qualification. We will match your experience to the right Mile Builder, date and likely conditions before you book.
