Course Overview
RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship is an inspiring introductory course for anyone interested in sailing, motor boating, personal watercraft, sea angling, diving or other activities on the water.
No previous knowledge is required. It introduces navigation, seamanship and safety at a foundation level below RYA Day Skipper Theory, making it especially useful for new crew, users of small boats and people who want more confidence before progressing through the RYA cruising scheme.
The interactive course connects practical boating decisions with charts, buoyage, tides, weather, electronic navigation, pilotage and passage planning. You study online at your own pace, with support available from Phuket Sea School when questions arise.
