Course Overview
Personal watercraft are fast, responsive and enjoyable, but their power and manoeuvrability require disciplined handling. This course develops the skills and safety awareness needed to ride responsibly and with greater confidence.
Training covers familiarisation, launching and recovery principles, low- and higher-speed control, stopping, collision avoidance, orientation at sea, emergency action and consideration for other water users.
Delivery is currently enquiry-led while Phuket Sea School validates demand and confirms suitable craft, operating areas, instructor availability and RYA delivery arrangements.
Who Is This Course For?
First-time and recreational Jet Ski riders, yacht guests and crew, families with older children, and owners who want structured safety training.
Prerequisites
- No previous PWC experience required
- Minimum age 12
- Candidates aged 12–16 may only use a PWC under responsible-adult supervision
- Ability to enter the water confidently and follow safety instructions
Typical Itinerary
The day combines a shore brief with progressive practical exercises in a suitable operating area.

Flights and Arrival
Yacht Haven Marina is approximately 20–30 minutes by road from Phuket International Airport in normal traffic. Exact boarding, checkout and examination arrangements are confirmed in the written joining instructions.

Can a 12-year-old attend?
The minimum age is 12. Candidates aged 12–16 must ride under the supervision of a responsible adult and any certificate restrictions will be explained before booking.
